Young Adult Ministry
"It was in order to seek this King that they had set off on their journey: deep within themselves they felt prompted to go in search of the true justice that can only come from God, and they wanted to serve this King, to fall prostrate at his feet and so play their part in the renewal of the world."
- Pope Benedict XVI, speaking of the journey of the Wise Men to find the child Jesus (Vigil with Youth at Marienfeld area, World Youth Day address, Aug. 20, 2005)
Welcome! On this web site you will find information about all upcoming and ongoing young adult ministry events throughout the archdiocese of Omaha. Guidelines:
• Email your events by noon on the first Friday of each month to have them posted by the third Friday of the same month.
• Sending an electronic copy of the event flier, a newsletter, or a link to the website where the event is listed is helpful.
• You are encouraged to email them as soon as you have the following information: date(s), time, place, cost – if any, whether registration is required, what demographic is invited (single, married, all, etc.), sponsoring parish/organization, contact person for more information.
Our focus is on meeting the needs of young adults in their 20’s and 30’s. We strive to connect young adults with Jesus Christ, the Church, the mission of the Church, and a peer community in which their faith is nurtured and strengthened.*
We hope to inspire young adults to understand, develop, and strengthen their vocations, and to live them as mature Catholic Christian disciples of Jesus Christ and to draw closer to Christ through opportunities for prayer, catechesis, the sacraments, fellowship, evangelization, and service.
* These are the four goals given in the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ document, Sons and Daughters of the Light: A Pastoral Plan for Ministry with Young Adults.
