Hello, I'm Matthew Capadano and my home parish is St. Cecilia's Cathedral. I come from a family of five, my parents are Harry and Mary, my older sister is Elizabeth, and my little sister is Katherine.

Looking back on my life, I first thought about the priesthood in the junior high while I was serving mass. I would be sitting there listening to the homily and thinking to myself, "it could be cool to be a priest." At that time I didn't realize what was happening, but now I know that it was the beginning of my call.

I graduated from Creighton Prep and went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for a year and a half, were I studied Veterinary Science. One of my passions in life is animals; every time I see a dog or a cat I can't help but smile. I enjoyed my time in Lincoln, but it just didn't feel right. During my freshman year I, once again, started feeling the call to the priesthood, I fought it and fought it, but the more I said no the stronger the call felt. So finally, in the fall of my sophomore year I decided to say yes to the call. I called my uncle who told me to talk to a priest.  That priest told me to call the vocations director of Omaha and the rest is history. I am now a Senior at Conception Seminary College, where I am studying philosophy.

If those of you who are reading this are considering the priesthood, I would say to pray about it, don't be afraid, and listen. Just remember that the best place to discern a vocation to the priesthood is in the seminary.
