Thomas Schumacher

Hello my name is Thomas Schumacher. I am from Hartington, Nebraska and I am a member of Holy Trinity Parish. I graduated this year from Hartington High School. In the second grade I thought about becoming a priest. It was always appealing to me that someone could be so close to God. After that year, I didn’t think much of it until I was in high school. That is when many people told me I would make a good priest. I did not think much of it until my own pastor and I had a discussion about it. I was interested in the idea of becoming a priest. I decided to give it a try and go right out of high school to join in the seminary. For anyone who has even had a thought about seminary, I would advise you to just jump in and figure things out. Maybe just talk to the vocations director about what it’s all about. It will probably turn out that it’s not as scary as it sounds. I begin my studies this year as a freshman at St. John Vianney Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
